There are many easy ways to save the earth, but we need to work together, as a society, to do our part as individuals collectively in order to make a difference. You may have heard of the term "reducing your carbon footprint". Carbon footprint is a newer all-encompassing term which describes the impact we leave, as people, on the planet.
This describes everything from how we get around, to what we eat and do on a daily basis. As consumers, we speak our minds every day in the products that we choose to but. Opting for products with less packaging over products that are "over packaged" is one such way that we do this.
Other easy ways to save the earth include:
1. Recycling as much as you possible can, including paper, cans, glass and plastic. Many governments are working on banning the plastic bag, so if you have not done so already, purchase some re-usable cloth bags for shopping.
2. Throw away less. Everything that you throw out ends up in a landfill. We produce a massive amount of garbage per person each and every year. If we can compost our kitchen scraps and recycle things we no longer want by giving them to charity, there really is no need for garbage disposal. You may still have a small amount of garbage, but at least you have worked hard to reduce the amount that you produce.
3. Drive an economical car. The less fuel that you consume, the better. Choose a car that gets the most mileage possible. If you can, use public transportation and leave your car at home.
4. Opt for greener energy sources for your household needs. There are a wide variety of plans and videos that you can access online to build and install solar panels and wind turbines. Using less electricity is one of the best easy ways to save the earth.
